Barbara Ann Bordeaux Dew, 83, of Tar Heel, NC departed her earthly life on Saturday night, March 15, 2025 peacefully in her home. Born on August 3, 1941, she was proceeded in death by her parents Homer and Hazel Bordeaux. Also preceding her in death are her husband of 59 years—Roy Max Dew and siblings—Marian Claytor, Hubert Bordeaux, Curtis Bordeaux, Carolyn Cavenaugh, and Joseph Bordeaux.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, daughter—Juanita Edelman and husband Mark of Fayetteville, and son—Steven Dew and wife Tabitha of Tar Heel; two grandchildren: Jayden and Abigail Dew; three step-grandchildren: David Edelman, Jena Taft, Justin Edelman; five great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Rachel Freeman and her husband Sammy of Live Oak and brother-in-law, Eddie Dew and wife Brenda of North Wilkesboro.
Mrs. Dew attended at Colly Chapel, where she loved worshipping the Lord. She loved many things of life such as: going to the beach, watching a good ballgame especially a Duke basketball game, shopping and eating at all the new places. She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends. She is now at rest in her heavenly home.
A graveside service to celebrate her life is set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in the Cemetery at Colly Chapel off Highway 41, Harrells, NC. The service will be officiated by Rev. Jim Woodruff and Coach Chris Carroll .
Pallbearers will be her nephews—Floyd, Russell, and Kenneth Cavenaugh, Michael “Mike” Clayter, Charles “Al” and Chris Bordeaux.
